«Por supuesto yo sabía en esos años la teoría de que la Historia no siempre avanza, sino que a veces (y terriblemente) retrocede. Es curioso que pudiendo, ya entonces, disertar o extenderme en esa teoría de la Historia, nunca llegara a ver cómo podía afectarme. O más llanamente, que podría también sucederme y ser yo asimismo la víctima. Confieso que no me percaté, acaso porque mi mamá vivía aún, y mientras vivió la sombra de su superprotección me daba confianza. Pero no era sólo eso, por supuesto. Es que me negaba a ver lo real, siendo tan ducho en la teoría. Mi mundo era el mundo ideal, no la realidad cotidiana, que (al parecer) me daban resuelta. Hoy me sorprende todavía–sin sorprenderme íntimamente en lo absoluto–que la Historia vaya tantas veces hacia atrás, hacia el horror de la carcundia–que hoy hasta llega a ser izquierdosa–la estupidez y el miedo, y que–más o menos desde el 2008–esa marcha atrás sea llamativa, fea y vulgar, y me haya cogido de pleno a mí, aunque ya maduro, bien maduro, yo que–debo decirlo comparativamente–he vivido épocas que no tengo otro remedio (visto el cenizoso presente) que llamar venturosas. Treinta espléndidos años, para tener que ver y soportar este palurdo final de ruina, catetez, incultura y–la frase no es mía–“Edad Media tecnológica”. ¡Qué pena! Como siempre, las hienas echan...
